Tips to Have A Perfect Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot
Wedding season is just around the corner, and the enthusiasm and excitement of brides and grooms-to-be are evident. Days are spent in getting everything in place for the wedding- shopping for the perfect outfit, accessories, gifts etc. A lot of Pinterest boards created for wedding decor, makeup, pre-wedding photo shoot and just about everything! Brides must be busy getting makeup trials and beauty treatments are done to look their very best. Grooms, maybe taking that one last bachelor trip with their buddies before the wedding. And the family would obviously be going berserk with all the invitations, guest lists, and arrangements.
If you are a bride or groom planning your own wedding (like I did), I know what you must be going through. Talks with a whole lot of wedding vendors, running around for last minute meetings, shopping and catching up with friends between all of the wedding preps. It must be leaving you exhausted and craving for just a little time alone with your fiance before you tie the knot.
Ideally, this is the best time to get your pre-wedding photo shoot done. You get to spend some quality time with your partner, get pampered and of-course get some gorgeous photos of the two of you together. Another added benefit is you get to know your photographer better, and have time to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Here are a few tips to make sure you get the best of photos and have a blast at your Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot.
Contact a good photographer
Yeah, I know this might sound a little lame, but is probably the most important. If you think your friend who is a wildlife photographer, would be great for your wedding or pre-wedding photo shoot, you are highly mistaken. Please don’t risk missing out on the most priceless memories in trying to save a few thousand rupees. The knowledge and experience of the photographer you choose matter the most. We would advise you to research thoroughly to find the best photographer who suits your needs and style. Look out for photographers in your city, or even the country if need be. What could be more precious than all your wedding and pre-wedding moments being captured beautifully…
Trust the one you choose
After the entire research and enquiry, when you finalize on your wedding photographer, trust them on what they suggest. The truth is they know more about photography than you, and would definitely not misguide you throughout the process, be it the poses, the locations, timings or outfit ideas. Share your thoughts and ideas with them and together you can come up with some very unique concepts for your pre-wedding photo shoot if you’re ready to experiment!
Please be on time for your pre-wedding photo shoot.
Surely you’ve heard all photographers go on and on about the ‘Golden hours’. If you want photos taken in the early hours of the day, with that gorgeous sky, please take the pain to wake up early, get ready and reach on time. We can’t stress how important it is to reach on time for a pre-wedding shoot. The ‘golden hours’ or ‘golden light’ is not going to wait for you. And there is no way your photographer can recreate it.
Looking good on the day of your pre-wedding shoot is obviously important. But it is essential that you also feel good. Go to sleep a little early the night before your shoot, be well hydrated, wake up and have a quick brekkie or a cup of coffee/ tea to freshen you up. Choose to wear clothes that you are comfortable in, or at least something you have tried out before. Please don’t overdo your makeup and end up being self-conscious.

And lastly –
After all that planning and preps for the shoot, you definitely deserve to enjoy the shoot. Leave the technicalities to the photographer and just focus on having a good time with your partner. Trust that the photographer will capture the best version of you. Laugh, hug, play around, kiss, jump, be crazy and just be yourself. The photos will keep happening.
These are the moment you will cherish all your life, and the photographs would be the soul of all these unforgettable memories.
You’ve made it to the end! Phew!!
